Our story
La Grand Classique started off at home, during the lockdown, with one wall and a clear belief as to what should be on it; all that has followed has been based on the same idea, namely patterns that go beyond the trend that inspired them.
2021 – The beginning
Late 2021. The pandemic had turned every home into an office, a classroom and a waiting room at once, and we were staring at the same four walls as everyone else. So we did what a lot of people did that year – we redecorated.
What we couldn't find was wallpaper that felt considered rather than disposable. Plenty of prints chasing whatever was on the moodboards that season, very little that would still look right in five years.
What we make
WeWe make and refine every pattern in-house, favoring designs that read as elegant rather than of-the-moment – soft botanicals, stripes, Art Deco geometry, brushwork and so on.
To reduce waste, we print nothing until it's ordered, and we cut every roll to the wall it's going on. That means we don't have a warehouse full of stock in sizes nobody needs, and customers don't have leftover rolls in a hallway cupboard.
Latvia — Where it's made
Every order is printed and finished in our own workshop in Latvia – not brokered out to whichever printer is cheapest that week. That's why we can stand behind the color, the paper, and the trim on a roll that left the building yesterday.
The same workshop serves customers across Europe and the United States, and the person checking your panels before they're rolled is on our team.
